The company COTTEX Trade is the leader of all kind of zinc raw materials and is an important trader and processor of zinc scrap and zinc waste, emerging of industrial activities both in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Our business activities are directed mainly to the Europe, but also to the USA and the Asia markets. We combine our experience with continual investments in innovative technologies for processing, research and development of an zinc products, logistic and also modern equipments of our facilities. We want to be the preferred partner of our customers, which we can offer long-term and perspective cooperations. We have modern facilities and we are economically strong and stable company, therefore we can offer to our clients excellent conditions, including collection of materials on the fixed time and also fast payment.

What we do...

Our main activity is trade and processing secondary raw materials of industrial zinc waste and zinc scrap, including scrap from different zinc alloys. Over time based on the demands of our customers we expanded activities to deal with scrap of stainless steel, aluminum, specialty alloys of bismuth and nickel. We are trade also electric motors scrap. Within our business we cooperate exclusively with the world reputable end users, scrap processors, manufacturers of metal alloys and other zinc products, including products which we are processed or trade. All metals, metal alloys, waste and scrap which we supply to our partners are individualy prepared according their exact specifications and requirements. We have very flexible, excellent and experienced team and to our customers we can offer prices according to real-time of LME. We are consulting in the areas of environmental support to our Customers, including services of technical and legislative spheres in the waste management.


The company was founded in 2009 based on many years of experience in the zinc recycling field of the company owner. Since its inception, the company specializes in the zinc waste and zinc scrap. In 2013 we invested in the purchase of the new plant of more than 5500m2 with more than 1500m2 of warehouse space in the village Roudná, near the town Tábor, located in the heart of the Czech Republic. Along with the gradual expansion and the growth of processed waste on 2500 tons in 2015, we countinously invest to new technologies, including laboratory equipments and logistical assets. Currently, we are able to processing in our plant annually by more than 5000 tons of zinc and other wastes and scrap. Since 2016 we are associate member of the Association of Czech and Slovak Galvanizers and also we are member of the association WASTen, whose members are the Czech innovative companies, suppliers of cutting-edge technologies for processing municipal and industrial wastes and a leading research and scientific facilities.


We are committed to fulfill the environmental policy requirements of all applicable laws and regulations relating to environmental protection, to apply preventive procedures to protect the environment and reduce the environmental burden due to the company business activities. Our main activities in the field of prevention of environmental pollution consist of high-quality processing of waste and thereby achieving high level of zinc recycling and also other metals and scrap, as well as providing high quality customer service and staff training in the field of environmental protection. We are certified by ISO 14001 and ISO 9001.

We strive to develop the company activities in the field of waste treatment processing, in order to ensure higher level of recycling, achieved so significant reduction in the environmental burden. With the financial support from the Operational Program of Environment and the support from EU programs, we managed to successfully implement two projects and on other new projects we are working intensively. Within the cluster WASTen we are involved in the research, science and development for transfer of cutting-edge innovative technologies to practice, focused on the material and energy processing of municipal and industrial wastes in the Czech Republic.


We strive to continuously develop the company’s waste management, processing and recycling activities to ensure a higher degree of recycling to achieve a significant reduction in the burden on the environment. Thanks to the support from the operational programs of OPZP and OPPIK, we successfully implement several projects, which are co-financed by the European Union and we are working intensively on others. Within the WASTen cluster, we are involved in the research, development and transfer of leading innovative technologies, focusing on the material and energy processing of industrial and municipal waste in the Czech Republic. In addition to higher recycling rates and cyclical support, one of our goals is to contribute to significant savings in raw material resources. Other ongoing projects include energy saving, the use of waste as a renewable resource for product manufacturing, the introduction of new systems and technologies for industry 4.0, including research and development, applications and the development of innovative waste management technologies. We are currently implementing several projects listed below.

  • From 2013 – Separation and disposal of textile waste for the region of Czech Budweis region.

The subject of the project is the introduction of separation and collection of textile waste for the Czech Budweis region.

  • From 2014 – Extension of the separate collection system
This project is co-financed by the European Union – Cohesion Fund under the Operational Programme Environment.

The subject of the project is the acquisition of technology to extend the system of separate collection and collection of waste.

  • From 2016 – Moderation SD Roudná
This project is co-financed by the European Union – Cohesion Fund under the Operational Programme Environment.

The subject of the project is to build a collection yard on the territory of the South Bohemian Region.

  • From 2017 – Zinc waste research and development of zinc products

The subject of the project is the research of zinc and zinc inks processing, ie zinc waste generated by thermal spraying.

  • From 2017 – Research and development of the process of zinc raw material recovery and development of innovative recyclable products

The subject of the project is research and development of new technology for the material utilization of zinc waste arising from zinc processing in industry and contaminated with other unwanted components and the subsequent development of innovative products containing zinc using recycled materials.

  • From 2018 – Modernizing the waste sorting system
This project is co-financed by the European Union – Cohesion Fund under the Operational Programme Environment.

The subject of the project is to acquire modern innovative technologies and to significantly improve the sorting and handling of waste for their use.

  •  From 2018 – Extension the capacity of innovation center for industrial research, development and innovation COTTEX Trade

This project is focused on the development and significant expansion of the existing research and innovation capacity (VIK) in relation to the implemented research and development and innovation (R & D & I) projects of the company in the area of ​​zinc waste processing and recycling. The aim of the project is to develop the research and development capacity of the company’s industrial research center, consisting of the acquisition of laboratory equipment necessary for further research and development of new innovative processes and high efficiency technologies for future production of zinc products by waste recycling and by extending VIK to ensure the activities of the center, including moving the company to a high technology level in the high-technology field.

• from 2020 – Application of recycled zinc in anticorrosive coating systems

The subject of the project is research into the development of innovative coating paints by using exclusively recycled zinc powders.
